Home Week by Week Course Policy Term Project Admin Sci@ColbyParticipation Makeup Paper

Here are some general essay questions. Each one is worth up to six "participation points" if answered exceptionally well, though most good answers will receive about four points . You can submit more than one. They are due the same time as the projects.

Good answers will be carefully written and between 1,200 and 2000 words. Use of personal experience or presentation of reactions and opinions is encouraged -- but remember to support your points with close reference to the material covered in the course.

Also, be honest. You don't have to tell me that the course changed your life.

Pick the one the sessions and write in depth on one of the questions posted. (If there are very closely related, you can merge two). This should go beyond the basic ideas explored in class or simple summary of the readings. Include personal opinions and reaction if possible, but express them carefully and try to back them up. (Don't pick a session you already emailed a reply for).

Personal Reaction:

What kind of job do you want? How have the materials and idea you encountered in this course altered your thinking or expectations for the future?

Think back on your existing work experiences. Do any of them relate to the material we have read for the course? Has the course material helped you understand these experiences better, and is there anything you might have done differently?
